Minotti São Paulo showroomThe building, presented at the 2008 Venice Architecture Biennale, is a sensory and dynamic work that reinterprets brutalism through natural materials in constant dialogue with the landscape. It is defined by its organic Brazilian wood façade, a climatic membrane that filters light, heat, and sound, creating a profound interaction between inside and out.
Within this setting, the concept for Minotti São Paulo, developed by Minotti Studio, is built around the idea of a ‘graft’: not to occupy or radically transform the existing volumes, but to fit with respect and lightness within a structure that already has a strong identity. The result is a series of essential, almost installation-like spaces, where iconic furnishings and a selection from the 2026 Collection are integrated with measured balance. Among them, the Ruffle seating system by GamFratesi and the Elas armchairs by Marcio Kogan / Studio MK27 contribute to a narrative of sartorial quality and formal research.
Spanning 1,000 square meters over four levels, the showroom’s layout is organized around a large, sculptural concrete staircase. Wood becomes the narrative thread of the design, introducing warmth and coherence through full-height walls and platforms that create fluidity between the levels. The entire project is also guided by the principle of suspension: the elements rest lightly within the space without overwhelming it, in an exercise of balance and subtraction. The result is a showroom that creates a dialogue between contemporary Italian design and Brazilian design culture, building a narrative where material, atmosphere, and light integrate with the rhythm of the city.
