For many years, household appliances were associated solely with technology and functionality, remaining separate from the world of interiors. They were coordinated in terms of performance and finishes, yet perceived as independent elements within the kitchen. In contemporary interiors, this is no longer the case: ovens, refrigerators and hobs are now part of a 360-degree vision of the kitchen system. Gaggenau has made this evolution a defining strength of its collections, taking the concept of integration to a level that encompasses both aesthetic language and performance. For the German company, synonymous with innovation in design and “Made in Germany” technology, the aim is to create a harmonious, coordinated whole in which the appliance is conceived as an architectural element within the space. This approach is fully expressed in the Vario cooling Expressive series, defined by outstanding modularity and the possibility of handleless integration: features that enhance its refined appearance while, above all, expanding its design and configuration possibilities.

The series now expands with 11 new cooling models: refrigerators, freezers, fridge-freezer combinations and wine climate cabinets. Each appliance can be installed individually or side by side in coordinated alignment, while handleless doors, flush surfaces and precisely organised interiors reinforce the sense of visual continuity. The same harmony and visual elegance continue inside, through a combination of dark brushed stainless steel, anthracite aluminium and glass shelves with aluminium frames, enhanced by glare-free warm white LED lighting that activates gradually in response to use. Digital features include the Gaggenau Home Connect app, which allows appliances to be controlled remotely from a mobile device; integrated cameras in the fridge-freezer combinations, enabling ingredients to be monitored at any time; and intuitive interfaces with quick guides supporting maintenance and everyday use.

At the heart of the Vario cooling Expressive series is a professional freshness system. The refrigerator is designed to create ideal storage conditions through dedicated cooling programmes, air filters, extendable Fresh Climate drawers with humidity control and a chilled drawer. The freezer, meanwhile, focuses on uncompromising preservation, protecting ingredients from freezer burn and oxidation. Completing the system is an integrated ice maker that blends seamlessly into the freezer’s design.

The wine climate cabinet adds a final note of sophistication to the composition. The new models in the series, the first of their kind, introduce a tempering system that brings each bottle to its ideal serving temperature automatically and predictably. Users are given an estimated time to completion and, once the ideal temperature has been reached, are notified both by the cabinet’s lighting and through the Gaggenau Home Connect app. With capacity for up to 110 or 68 bottles, these wine climate cabinets redefine wine storage in the home, creating a new experience centred on the pleasure of sharing and entertaining.
