Sleek hull lines, extreme performance, striking interiors and sporty comfort. Yachting is drawing increasing inspiration from the world of luxury automotive design – and supercars in particular – in its pursuit of cutting-edge technology and exceptional performance. A first look at the new Icona 70 immediately evokes the world of racing cars, striking a balance between muscular power and aerodynamic lightness. With the allure of a hypercar, Icona 70 was conceived to be revolutionary, both within its segment and within the Overmarine Group. The new yacht marks the debut of the newly established brand “ICONA inspired by Mangusta”, led by Effebi New Project, founded by the Balducci family and Stefano Arlunno. It enters the sub-24-metre segment while pushing beyond its conventional boundaries in terms of comfort and liveability. Icona 70 was born from a close observation of the market. “The new generation of yacht owners is reinterpreting what exclusivity means,” the company explains. “They are not necessarily looking to have more. They are looking for something different, because they can afford to. Something more emotional, more personal, more distinctive. Ultimately, something more iconic, capable of redefining the very meaning of luxury.” This vision led to the development of Icona 70, created in collaboration with Igor Lobanov (already responsible for the stylistic language of the Mangusta REV range) who designed both the exterior and interiors.
ICONA inspired by Mangusta 4Its most innovative feature is the exterior design, which establishes a direct connection with the world of sports cars. Muscular lines flow uninterrupted along the hull; the engine-room air intake is 3D-printed with a honeycomb structure; the dark glazed superstructure appears to disappear beneath a tapered hardtop; and the forward windscreen has been designed without conventional pillars. The same pursuit of visual purity extends to the yacht’s most complex technical elements. The bow mooring area, anchor housing and side tender bay – designed to accommodate a jet tender of up to 3.45 metres – are seamlessly integrated into the architecture while remaining visually concealed. The most explicit reference to the automotive world, however, can be found at the helm. The driving station takes the form of a minimalist dashboard, featuring four integrated 19-inch touchscreen displays, four dedicated helm seats and multicolour lighting.

At the heart of Icona 70 is a central passageway extending from the aft platform to the cockpit, unfolding across two levels before continuing into the bright glazed superstructure. On the lower deck, the central living area features expansive skylights that create a suspended glass dome, establishing a visual connection between sea and sky. The three cabins, with an interior height of 2.10 metres, are exceptionally spacious, as is the full-beam owner’s suite. The sense of openness is further enhanced by large, continuous hull-side windows. The impression of being aboard a yacht considerably larger than a 70-footer continues all the way to the stern, where another innovative and striking feature comes into play. Two immense side wings fold out to increase the beam to more than nine metres, creating a 40-square-metre platform over the water – a width more typically associated with a yacht measuring around 50 metres in length. Here, the outdoor area can be transformed according to different needs, shifting from a more intimate and private setting to an open, convivial space thanks to L-shaped sunpads, convertible tables, an outdoor galley and a DJ console.

At the same time, this fibreglass architecture on the water delivers both performance and efficiency, with a top speed of approximately 36 knots, a cruising speed of around 30 knots and a range of approximately 270 nautical miles. First unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival, Icona 70 has already received the Best Exterior Design award at the 25th edition of the World Yachts Trophies, as well as the Special Innovation Award at the Design Innovation Award 2026, presented during the Genoa International Boat Show.
