Gozzo 42 by ApreamareWith the new Gozzo 42, Apreamare offers a new interpretation of the Mediterranean lifestyle at sea. The model represents a technical and stylistic evolution of the Gozzo line and marks an important step for the shipyard, which is embracing a more contemporary language without betraying its soul, deeply tied to tradition.
Since its origins in 1849, Apreamare‘s identity has been shaped around the Sorrento gozzo and its centuries-old culture. The gozzo was born as a workboat (for fishing or transporting goods), built from wood by the skilled hands of master shipwrights. Over time, it has maintained its aesthetic and functionality thanks to a perfect combination of stability and seaworthiness. The Aprea family was among the first to introduce technological innovations to this model, transforming it into a modern and cutting-edge pleasure craft while preserving its family-friendly, Mediterranean character.
Gozzo 42 by Apreamare 3The new Gozzo 42 takes another step forward on this path. The result of a collaborative effort between Cataldo Aprea and Marco Casali (Too Design) for the design and style, Umberto Tagliavini (Marine Design) for the naval architecture, and the shipyard’s internal Technical Office, the new vessel aims for an even sportier and more contemporary character. The design of the hull, deckhouse, and windows has been completely updated to give the silhouette greater dynamism, as has the helm station, which is now more sculpted and ergonomic. Great attention was also paid to performance at sea: the variable-geometry hull with lifting strakes is designed to be equipped with either a traditional shaft-line transmission or a Volvo Penta IPS system, ensuring safety, comfort, and high performance in all sea conditions. The Gozzo 42 can reach top speeds between 27 and 36 knots and cruising speeds between 22 and 27 knots, with an autonomy guaranteed by a 1,200-liter fuel tank—among the largest in its class. With a length overall of 12.80 meters and a maximum beam of 4.20 meters, the Gozzo 42 is designed to host up to 14 people on board.
Gozzo 42 by Apreamare 2Comfort is another aspect that received special attention in the new model. Among the distinctive features, the hard top stands out, designed for the optional full enclosure of the glass windshield to enhance cruising comfort in all conditions. Onboard livability has been further enhanced, starting with the cockpit, which features a large 200 cm long aft sunpad alongside a spacious C-shaped sofa for eight people. At the bow, a second convivial area with a sunpad and facing settees offers relaxation and privacy, while a fully configurable wet bar completes the exterior spaces. The interiors offer the same level of comfort and brightness. In particular, the owner’s cabin, set in an open-space environment, can be separated from the living area. Aft, there is a second cabin, available on request. The entire sleeping area benefits from abundant light thanks to the new hull and deck windows.
