Design that shapes space

Fantoni unveils an expansion of the Alis collection, designed by Park. A comprehensive furnishing system that shapes contemporary workplaces

There is something inherently architectural about these furnishings. With the Alis collection, Fantoni moves beyond the conventional boundaries of furniture design to embrace a broader vision of space. At the heart of the project lies the relationship between objects and their surroundings: elements interact with light, materials and surfaces, helping to shape how people perceive and experience their environment. An integral part of this approach is the system’s ability to organise and define work areas through solutions that adapt to different settings and functional requirements. This is both Alis’s distinctive identity and its innovative strength, enabling it to transform contemporary workplaces. The collection is rooted in an approach that begins with architecture and extends to furniture, conceived as a system capable of shaping space. It is no coincidence that Alis was created by Park, the architecture studio that has translated the geometries and construction principles characteristic of its buildings into the collection: surfaces that respond to light, structural rhythms that establish depth, and supporting elements that interact through visual and tactile tensions.

Since its debut last year, Alis has already begun to evolve, incorporating new elements and configurations while maintaining a consistent formal language. Angular cuts and geometries create an interplay of three-dimensionality and movement, while warm materiality conveys a sense of measured comfort, echoing the studio’s architectural work. This expressive character runs throughout the collection, from operational and executive desks to meeting tables, modular bookcases and storage solutions. The latest additions – including new table configurations and dimensions, coffee tables, coat racks and other accessories – further expand the range into a comprehensive furnishing system for the office.

Thanks to its extensive compositional possibilities and exceptional versatility, Alis integrates seamlessly into different environments, responding to the needs of contemporary workplaces with flexibility and consistency. Operational areas, individual workspaces, meeting places and environments dedicated to inspiration or collaboration can be created simply by combining square or rectangular table configurations, bench workstations and meeting tables.

The overall setting is defined by a balanced, refined design language that brings together lightweight volumes and carefully calibrated proportions, with a touch of dynamic perspective introduced by surfaces inclined at 30 degrees. “With the expansion of the Alis collection, we wanted to reinforce its essential character and its ability to adapt to an ever-evolving workplace,” explains Marco Sorrentino, Product Design Director at Park. “The system has been conceived with great formal rigour. Rather than imposing itself on its surroundings, it complements them with discretion.”

Material selection is equally fundamental to this approach. The palette includes white, oak and walnut finishes, alongside tactile surfaces in Fenix and Linoleum, combined with an aluminium structure clad in Microflex, Fantoni’s ultra-flexible laminate. The tabletops, meanwhile, are made from melamine-faced particleboard produced using 100% recycled wood. The bookcase, composed of stackable modules comprising two, three or four elements, echoes some of the decorative finishes used for the tabletops. This visual continuity extends to its laminate legs, reflecting the synergy between the companies of the Fantoni Group.
