Between aesthetics and technology

In this case, the sea and entertainment were the priorities,” explains Francesco Paszkowski, the creative mind behind the new Awandra, a 52-meter Baglietto T52 superyacht with four decks and six cabins designed to accommodate up to 12 guests. “We introduced an innovative solution: an upper deck space with a solid roof and retractable glass walls. This concept creates a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor living without compromising the yacht’s structural integrity or aesthetic balance. The space offers virtually endless customisation possibilities, capable of becoming any environment the owner desires.”

The layouts reflect the owner’s brief, with social areas distributed across all decks, an adventure room dedicated to water skis, bicycles, and diving gear, and a 135-square-meter sun deck with a forward-facing, glass-walled pool. This deck is connected to the upper deck by a gangway that elegantly retracts into the deck itself when not in use. . “It’s an innovative concept that redefines the elegance of life on board,” continue the designers, who also created most of the custom furniture. The pieces feature artisanal finishes, predominantly in teak and oak, with trapezoidal, pentagonal, hexagonal, and rounded shapes. To maintain material consistency, the Emperador or Botticino marble chosen for the bathrooms is echoed in parts of the flooring, as well as in the bed frames and nightstands, “while the fabrics were inspired by the colors of the sea.” This is where you’ll find ecru and taupe paired with shades of light blue, turquoise, deep blue, and aquamarine green, present in both the interior and exterior areas. The indoor/outdoor concept, however, is intentionally blurred. Spaces like the lounge and dining area are conceived as multifunctional environments, with retractable glass walls on three sides that move beyond the idea of a traditional salon in favor of a versatile, veranda-like space with non-stop views of the water.

Another distinctive feature is the helm station, which draws inspiration from automotive design. The cabins, particularly the owner’s suite, evoke a more classic atmosphere, where contemporary design language meets a fresh and airy aesthetic. “We combined the teak and oak of the furnishings with lacquered panels to lend greater originality to the ensemble.” Continuing the theme of originality, the open stern concept – a hallmark of Baglietto yachts – is enhanced by innovative elements like the movable floor of the main deck pool. Once drained, it can rise to deck level, seamlessly integrating with the outdoor living area.
