Maxalto‘s new accessories embody all the refined essence of the brand, filtered through the creative vision of Antonio Citterio. The new proposals are a consistent continuation of the philosophy that has shaped Maxalto’s identity for 50 years (celebrated last year): to create a catalogue of modern neo-classics. «Modern», explains the company, «because they are ideally linked to the visions of more libertarian masters such as Jean-Michel Frank, as opposed to the excessive rigour of Le Corbusier or Mies van der Rohe: neo-classical because their forms and finishes are filtered through the contemporary gaze of an Italian architect».
Presented in its flagship store in Paris during Maison&Objet, Maxalto’s new products reveal an unprecedented sparkle in the collection’s narrative with new models and range extensions, in which shapes, materials and details are revealed with renewed intensity. A metaphorical and concrete light that illuminates the identity of the furniture and is echoed in the brilliance of the new sideboards.

Symbolising this vision is the new Luminor collection of storage units with a strong architectural identity. Available in three types (one vertical and two horizontal versions in two different heights), Luminor adopts the use of PVD for the first time in the Maxalto world, in yellow gold or rose gold colours, a technology already developed by Arclinea for its high-end kitchens. Luminor units feature hinged doors and drawers. The interiors, designed like precious boxes, feature fine dove grey finishes combined with different internal fittings in frisé maple, while the top is in bronzed reflective glass.

The idea of modern living also accompanies Artemone and its recent expansion of the range. This collection of storage units was created in 2016 to bring the traditional dining room attached to the kitchen and transform it into a contemporary service element. Today, Antonio Citterio proposes a new horizontal configuration with drawers that fits in as a natural extension of the family. Resting on an elegant die-cast aluminium base or in the new floor-standing version, the cabinet recalls some of the stylistic features of the 1960s with modern sensitivity, reinterpreting the theme of doors combined with an upper drawer in an essential and sophisticated guise.
