Vondom | Tulum

Eugeni Quitllet designs a collection of outdoor furniture for Vondom that combines natural and high-tech elements with modern harmony

“Tulum is more than just a collection, it is a place, an intimate space where to live and share experiences with the people you love the most and where dreams come true.” This is how designer Eugeni Quitllet describes the concept of Tulum, an outdoor furniture line designed for Vondom.

Comprising a three-seater sofa, armchair and dining table, Tulum aims to recreate indoor comfort in en plein air environments by combining natural materials (such as teak) and high-tech through a harmony that smacks of modernity.

Strong attention is given to the graphic sign: an obvious linearity is softened in the structural details by sinuous strokes and curvilinear profiles, giving rhythm to the composition. The designer also played with volumes, between the solids and voids of the base that accommodates a more than generous seat padding.
