News from the Supersalone

425 brands in four pavilions, to present “a sample” of their new creations

A revised formula, more “compact” than what we’re used to. No display booths with the proportions of a “house,” but areas of a few square meters, to display a summary of new developments. This is the Supersalone, where 425 brands in the four pavilions of Rho Fiera will launch their creations for 2021, using imagination to adapt to different sizes, arrangements and display concepts.

Billiani stands out with a new project by Cristina Celestino, the Veretta chair, with a particular ring of solid curved beech around the seat, embedding the back.

New seating is also the focus of Potocco: under the art direction of Chiara Andreatti, in a special installation the company presents the Keel seating collection designed by Mario Ferrarini and Victor Vasilev, in the version covered in rust-color velvet, with a back in biscuit-stained ash wood.

Lapalma steps forward with the Edit chair – an eclectic, sustainable new creation by Anderssen&Voll – reissued in a contemporary interpretation of the archetypal canons classic modernist armchairs.

Speaking of reinterpretation of classicism, Fratelli Boffi presents the Ciuffo chair made in solid stained mahogany, covered in jacquard fabric, where tradition and contemporary spirit establish a dialogue through selected forms and materials.

The material is the distinctive feature of the exclusive Caementum table, the result of a new collaboration between Pedrali and Marco Merendi and Diego Vencato: a monoblock table (in two sizes and three colors) made in concrete specifically for outdoor use.

Another single-material table with contemporary lines is the NVL Table, the second project – after Super_Position – by the French architect Jean Nouvel for MDF Italia: an architectural table with great lightness of form.

Along these lines, we can also mention Euclideo, a desk with a sculptural character designed by Ferruccio Laviani for 4 Mariani, based on the combination of two volumes to give rise to a worksurface and a storage cabinet.

An artistic approach can also be seen in the 36e8 Glass sideboard (an evolution of the iconic 36e8 module) by Lago; the piece is part of a selection of four items for the Supersalone Limited Edition: 100 unique, numbered pieces, clad with a new marble texture.

Games of geometry go into the new Campiture collection designed by Elisa Ossino for Amini Carpets, inspired by research on harmony and rhythm, with essential forms based on a combination of horizontal and vertical lines.

The game shifts to colors in the Doga collection by Nardi (design Raffaello Galiotto), which introduces a novel chromatic range for this ergonomic outdoor seating.

Uses and applications come into play in the Florian folding tables, originally designed by Vico Magistretti in 1989 and now reissued by Acerbis: a light table with multiple levels, built on a folding structure that can be hung on the wall.

Finally, there is the game of essential lines: seen in the Kiyumi collection from Arrmet, designed by Tomoya Tabuchi: sophisticated construction and impeccably clean lines for a blend of age-old Japanese culture and contemporary comfort.

For the most refined tastes, Illulian presents an exclusive collaboration with Studio Fuksas: the result is a carpet, The Cloud. The famous Cloud by Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas becomes a carpet with sinuous organic lines.
