Behind The Future Perfect, one of the most inspiring exhibition platforms for research and collectible design in the United States, is David Alhadeff, a gallerist and collector with a cosmopolitan family and a lifelong connection to art. Founded in New York in 2007, The Future Perfect opened a San Francisco location in 2010 and another in Los Angeles in 2022 in a historic mansion, the Goldwyn House, designed in 1916 for film producer Samuel Goldwyn.

The mansion, which doubles as an exhibition space and home, was recently redesigned with new colors and new collectibles in dialogue with the historic architecture, which is also open to site-specific interventions by contemporary artists. The charm of an old Hollywood mansion becomes an unusual context for viewing contemporary art and design. A very special experience.

The Future Perfect LA, which is open by appointment, features rotating works by a large group of figures who straddle the line between applied art and sculpture: ceramicist Cody Hoyt, lighting designers Lindsey Adelman and Ben & Aja Blanc, Bradley L. Bowers (whose work fuses furniture, fashion, and culture), and Italy’s Dimorestudio with its Dimoremilano furniture line
