Design, beauty and functionality: the new Florim and CEDIT surfaces are unveiled in Milan

On the occasion of Milan Design Week, the Fiorano Modenese company presents the Compatta collection by Federico Peri for CEDIT and new surfaces for the FLORIM stone brand

Florim, a company recognised as one of the world references in the high-end ceramic sector, presents, on the occasion of Milan Design Week, a new collection of porcelain stoneware slabs for the CEDIT – Ceramiche d’Italia brand and thirteen new surfaces for its FLORIM stone brand dedicated to the world of furniture and worktops. CEDIT synonymous with aesthetic and technical experimentation and has involved designers of the calibre of Albe Steiner, Enzo Mari, Ettore Sottsass, Bob Noorda, Marzo Zanuso, Bruno Munari, Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni over the years. In the wake of this tradition, on which the brand has in recent years grafted collaborations with Italian architects, artists and designers from the contemporary scene, and this year presents s the new Compatta collection, designed by Federico Peri.

Compatta investigates the theme of “earth” in its deepest and most primitive meaning. With this collection, the Italian designer recovers and reinterprets the ancient technique of pisé, transforming large porcelain stoneware slabs into design elements with a strong impact, whose surface appearance is deep, rough, textured, softened by three-dimensional plays of light and shadow that enhance the decorative elements.

Florim also presents thirteen new surfaces for FLORIM Stone, combined with the Florim Magnum range. Produced using a process that is up to 100% sustainable, these surfaces, which combine design and functionality in a single large format (320x160cm) and three different thicknesses (6-12-20 mm), are the protagonists of two installations created by Matteo Nunziati outside and inside the Fair, named SCENARIOS.

Inside the Florim stand at the Salone del Mobile in Rho, the multiple application possibilities of the Florim surfaces are in fact displayed in an interior project, for a villa composed of five rooms, while inside the Florim Flagship Store, in Foro Buonaparte 14 in Milan, a ‘deconstructed’ version of the stand spaces is presented, with five conceptual and emotional installations.
