Design and fashion: Fabio Ferrillo Belli for AZ Factory

The studio FERRILLOBELLI has created a limited-edition collection of stools, seen in Paris with the fashion creations designed by Colville for AZ Factory

A case of teamwork combining different but related sectors, on the runway during Paris Fashion Week. Design and fashion again demonstrate their complementary character and their ability to generate surprising results when skillfully mixed.

AZ Factory – the brand of Richemont founded by Alber Elbaz – called on the Milan-based studio of architecture and design FERRILLOBELLI to produce a fashion show in the evocative setting of Fondation Cartier, with guest designers: the duo of Molly Molloy and Lucinda Chambers (respectively former design director of Marni and former Fashion Director of Vogue UK), alias Colville.

The names are illustrious, and the results even managed to surpass all expectations. While on the one hand the fashion creations by Colville perfectly interpreted the concept of “smart fashion” promoted by AZ Factory, on the other the touch of Fabio Ferrillo Belli sealed that vision, creating a limited edition of 35 stools whose apparent simplicity merges research, imagination and a sustainable spirit.

All unique and different, the 35 seats – now on sale at the website of AZ Factory – are made in wood, with the addition of leather panels (salvaged from scrap) and compositions of mosaic tiles, thanks to the contribution of the historic company Friul Mosaic, which used natural glazes cut by hand from recycled glass powder to decorate each stool with the motifs of the collection.

Like totems with a geometric look, they accompanied the runway show in a tribute to color, expression and the ethics behind this unique artistic collaboration.
