Immersio Temporis

The partnership between Cranchi Yachts and Christian Grande conquers the spaces of Palazzo Clerici during Milan Design Week with an installation that recounts the shared vision of the shipyard and the designer

“In this palace, one breathes art, one breathes architecture. Cranchi itself demonstrates the ability to evolve from a stylistic point of view, with its engineering complexities. Hence Immersio Temporis, the idea of an immersion in time, an immersion that allows one to imagine the sensation of being pervaded by art that comes from afar and guides us towards the future.”

The architecture is the eighteenth-century neoclassical style of Palazzo Clerici, the narrating voice and the figure on the immense video wall in the Hall of Columns belong to Christian Grande, author of the Immersio Temporis installation and yacht design signature, the images of yachts under construction are from the Cranchi Yachts shipyard, whose history began in 1870.

In 2025, Cranchi Yachts’ first participation in Milano Design Week occupies the noble spaces of Palazzo Clerici from April 7th to 13th with an installation that seeks to blend artistic inspiration, a metaphysical interpretation of aquatic space, the concreteness of a shipyard that has always produced boats of great solidity made to last over time, and Italian nautical design.

While the designer’s and visitor’s point of view is the unusual one of a boat’s hull in a blue and ‘underwater’ atmosphere, as the title Immersio Temporis announces, the theme of time is the true protagonist. The metaphorical suspended time and that of the evolution of a Made in Italy company, the past of Milan’s history and architecture, and a present in constant change.

“Our presence at Milan Design Week is not accidental. Cranchi Yachts is a company that interprets contemporary design with a constant orientation towards innovation and aesthetic research. Immersio Temporis represents a significant step towards a vision that goes beyond the construction of boats: it is a celebration of timeless beauty, which goes beyond functionality, and which engages with the public through a visual and sensory narrative. Combining the unique charm of the sea with the pursuit of projects that blend with it, representing Italian craftsmanship in the world, is the synthesis of our company. Beauty is our only benchmark,” says Guido Cranchi, CEO of Cranchi Yacht.
