“Let it snow”

Sahrai's Winter Selection warms interiors with ultra-soft and cozy rugs, bringing the colors and ambiance of magical winter landscapes indoors

Each season calls for its own rug. The art of weaving lends itself to decoration, offering a vast array of textures, patterns, hues, and materials that cater to every style and personalization desire. In contemporary interiors, rugs have become essential accessories that add character to spaces, much like a handbag completes a sophisticated outfit. Between seasons, as spaces are revitalized with decor and accents that recreate the essence of the natural world indoors, rugs play a crucial role: they are the soft touch that completes a room, offering unparalleled versatility in motifs and colors. Inspired by the chilly backdrops of winter, Sahrai presents its flagship creations in its exclusive Milan showroom.

Following the “Winter Vibes atmosphere” concept, this stylish series merges contemporary appeal with innovative material research and production techniques, alongside ancient, deep-rooted craftsmanship. Soft fibers that warm the spirit, and gentle, frosty colors like frost-covered landscapes, unite the rugs from Mamounia, 6th Gen, and Noor Collections, which form Sahrai’s Winter Selection. Inspired by Berber rugs, the Mamounia collection is a woven portrayal of the tribal floors of North Africa.

Its distinct creation process involves handcrafting by tribal artisans residing in the Atlas Mountains of northern Morocco. This results in rugs with simple yet enveloping designs, ranging from geometric patterns to more freeform shapes, always in neutral tones to enhance their rustic look. These wool rugs bring a bohemian allure to modern interiors. Such creative freedom is evident in the 6th Gen collection—named so as it was designed by the sixth generation of the Sahrai family.

The 6th Gen collection is crafted to meet the needs of maximum flexibility, quality, and speed for residential, hospitality, and bespoke projects. It also boasts fresh design innovation, exploring new sustainable production techniques, and using cutting-edge renewable materials like Tencel and biodegradable polyester.

Additionally, the variety in pile lengths and textures, such as looped and felted wool, reflect the latest trends in contemporary design. Sahrai’s love for nature is reflected in several of its collections, both as a commitment to sustainability and as a source of inspiration, thanks to nature’s evocative power, colors, and patterns. This is evident in the Noor collection, whose name, meaning “light”, pays tribute to nature’s generative force. Each rug plays with reflections, light and shadow, and luminous effects through bold colors and freeform designs. Marbled patterns, fluid motifs, movements, and ripples decorate the surface to create a sense of elegance and intrigue.

With their unique characteristics combined with shared softness and comfort, the rugs in the Winter Selection create intimate havens to enjoy the enchantment of winter. Complementing this offering is Sahrai’s new Montenapoleone collection, consisting of bespoke rugs handcrafted in Italy with the finest cashmere, silk, and blended yarns.
