The Dip by Wall&decò, design Shout
Our new moodboard, which we call Abiggersplash in honor of a famous painting by David Hockney, represents just this: that strange summer desire for lightness, which at the end of a year’s work becomes a necessity.
We are not in Los Angeles and we do not have the regulation pool set amidst palm trees and blue skies, as in the famous artwork hanging in the Tate Gallery of London. What we are introducing here is a purely domestic landscape. And while we try to discover which like-grabbing summer single can become the soundtrack for our midsummer night’s dream, we share with you a beauty routine that is a must for your home.

The starting point is a good dose of color and lots of lively furnishings. Starting with the backdrops we have painted by juxtaposing coral red and blue, aqua green and deeper blue, with the famous dive in our own style at the center.
The protagonists include a sofa whose fabric reminds us of a mainsail filled with wind, and a cloud that brings no rain, since it is made of polyethylene instead of water vapor. So get ready for the first leap off the diving board – but be careful: the waves are made of cotton and cannot be splashed.

Light arches drawn with a pencil: the scene begins with the Escape Room wallcovering from Walls by Patel. Imaginary Roman baths that play with geometry to create an illusion of depth. Placed at the center, the Mini Button wall and ceiling lamp created by Piero Lissoni for Flos, with a diffusor in opaline glass or polycarbonate, creates a soft, intimate effect in any space.

The new Vela sofa by Saba, designed by Zanellato/Bortotto, is perfect for our marine theme. The fabric covering picks up on the play of mainsail and jib, tracing imaginary routes to reach faraway horizons.

Gobi by Diabla
Clean and simple in its graphic impact, Daen 72 designed by Federico Peri for Gervasoni is a bookcase with a structure in ash wood and shelves in lacquered MDF; the back is covered in Vibes water-repellent and washable eco-leather. A touch of Azul, in perfect tune with the other hues of the setting. Greenery should be seen as a small urban jungle, but with touches of lively colors, such as the red Gobi planter from Diabla.
Spun by Magis, design Thomas Heatherwick
Strange Loves by Dedar
Moving to the beat of the new summer playlist, the famous Spun chair by Magis designed by Thomas Heatherwick is like a spinning top or a vase that takes form, rotating on a potter’s wheel. The traditional two-tone stripes are a must, of course. We’ve chosen the ones in Strange Loves by Dedar, resistant to mildew and weathering.
Nuvola by Nemo, design Mario Bellini
At this point we’re at the climax of the story: the legendary dive. And we have opted for The Dip, a wallpaper created by the illustrator Alessandro Gottardo (aka Shout) for Wall&decò. Only a small moment of overcast blocks the sun but brings no rain, because it is actually the Nuvola lamp in polyethylene designed by Mario Bellini for Nemo. On the beach, in the meantime, the waves are starting to build with the bathmat in a wavy form from CoinCasa.

Tatino by Baleri Italia, design Enrico Baleri & Denis Santachiara
The Scaletta aluminium towel warmer by Tubes picks up on the theme of the central illustration. At the waterline, life on the beach goes on with a rolling ball: it’s the Tatino seat, a historic piece created by Enrico Baleri and Denis Santachiara for Baleri Italia.
Dots by Arte, design Le Corbusier
Coppia di pesci by Bitossi Ceramiche, design Aldo Londi
An intense blue, but not just any blue, because we have selected a shade derived from the chromatic system developed by Le Corbusier. The wallcovering is called Dots and is produced by Arte. Last but not least: the Coppia di pesci by Aldo Londi, made in pressed white clay, mounted on an iron base and produced by Bitossi Ceramiche.
