The charm of the past, of a city like Pompeii, its history, places and traditions: all of this lives on, reinterpreted in a contemporary way and with an eye on the future, in the Nuova Pompei collection of wallpapers designed by Vito Nesta for Misha. The collection contains four different patterns, sharing skillful use of warm, welcoming colors: Architetture Grottesche, Paradiso, Mosaico and Sannita.
Architetture Grottesche takes its cue from grotesques, examples of a Roman style of painting in the Augustan era that was inspired, in turn, by the style of Pompeii. The ancient patterns have been reworked by Vito Nesta and transposed into dreamy settings, a monochrome background enhanced by weaves of jewels, colored gemstones and minute details.

Paradiso pays homage to flourishing nature, in the most intimate spaces of the home. Birds in flight and fruit trees are matched with imagery of ruins from faraway eras. Here the inspiration comes from the frescos of the House of the Orchard, where “garden painting” accompanied the architecture of the bedrooms.

The floors of ancient Pompeii are the stimulus for Mosaico, a reinterpretation of the mosaic images done with the Greek “carpet” technique. The geometric and modular pattern, with its slim, elegant lines, can be personalized in relation to the available spaces.

Finally, textural and concrete is Sannita, which pays homage to the pictorial techniques of the early Pompeian style. The wallpaper mixes the regular geometries of rectangles and squares with the veins of marble and onyx through the use of interchangeable modules.
