L’edizione 2018 estende la sua superficie di oltre il 20%. La novità? La sezione Downtown Editions che propone limited-edition e design bespoke

Con oltre 175 brand espositori (inclusi 40 designer regionali) l’edizione di quest’anno di Downtown Design ha toccato un nuovo record, ampliando i suoi confini di oltre il 20%. Un risultato che si inserisce sulla scia della rapida crescita registrata negli ultimi anni. Novità 2018, la sezione Downtown Editions che propone limited-edition e design bespoke di studi indipendenti, brand e designer del Middle East, ma non solo.

La nuova area è parte integrante dello spazio espositivo che quest’anno è stato progettato dallo studio H+A attorno al tema ‘Liveable Cities’, includendo bespoke cafè concept, pop-up retail destination, indoor landscape e installazioni outdoor sulla waterfront terrace. In scena quindi design internazionale e regionale, oltre alle numerose Design Week (ospiti della kermesse insieme ai loro talenti), tra cui Amman, Beirut e Casablanca.

La direttrice di Downtown Design, Rue Kothari, afferma: “La sesta edizione è la più ambiziosa fino ad oggi. Accoglieremo 65 nuovi marchi, ospiteremo l’evento inaugurale e installazioni di grandi dimensioni. Gli architetti vincitori del premio H + A offriranno ai visitatori un’esperienza unica, con il progetto dello spazio seguendo il tema 2018 “Città vivibili”. Inoltre, quest’anno sono state introdotte novità come il concetto di caffetteria su misura, una destinazione di vendita al dettaglio pop-up e installazioni sulla terrazza con vista lungomare. Questo nuovo progetto, accompagnato da una nuova direzione creativa, segnerà l’inizio di una fase di crescita e successo per la fiera”.
