New York, the city that never sleeps! With its compelling appeal, its intense lights that illuminate the towering skyscrapers, the wide lanes that create an accurate grid in the city where it is impossible to get lost, if not in its evocative atmospheres. Here creativity, trends and innovation find the perfect breeding ground to evolve and get in contact with the public. It is not a coincidence that design found here a special location to unfold its innovative potential. More than 44,000 designers, circa 4,000 design firms and 10 renowned design and architecture schools make the city one of the major Design cities.
On the basis of this creative dynamism, the NYCxDesign event is back, the annual celebration (already in its fourth edition) of the most prolific design, organized by NYC Economic Development Corporation; from May 3 to 17, the city arranges creative hubs, through the five boroughs, to host the international design community. Over one hundred events enliven the streets, showrooms, ateliers, museums, in a heartfelt hymn to design, expressed through installations, seminars, exhibitions, trade shows, openings and launchings. Among the leading protagonists, the events BKLYN Designs, Frieze Art Fair, ICFF, WantedDesing (Manhattan and Brooklyn), Collective Design, next to Cooper Hewitt – Smithsonian Design Museum, Design Trust for Public Place, FIT, Museum of Art and Design, Pratt Institute, Parsons School of Design and Site Unseen Offsite.
