Damasco, Made in Italy by BattilossiFounded in 1959 by Romolo Battilossi, the company has established itself as a reference point in the high-end rug sector, preserving and reinterpreting the ancient art of weaving. Romolo's passion, a former apprentice and restorer in a renowned Turin workshop, has been passed down to his children Maurizio and Marina, who grew up among the precious textures and intricate designs of antique carpets. In the 1980s, with the arrival of Maurizio, the company embarked on a new path, combining the sale and restoration of antique pieces with the production of contemporary custom-designed rugs.

Thanks to its deep knowledge of the sector and a solid network of collaborations in Pakistan and Nepal, Battilossi specializes in the research of innovative materials and weaving techniques, offering a bespoke customization service. The company stands out for its meticulous attention to detail and its ability to translate customer needs into unique pieces, capable of embellishing the most sophisticated environments. Today Battilossi represents Italian excellence in the international textile furnishings scene, with two complementary souls: the production of its own collections, appreciated by a high-end clientele in North America and Europe, and consultancy for companies wishing to develop exclusive rug lines.

In an increasingly competitive market, where mass production often sacrifices quality and originality, Battilossi stands out for its desire to preserve and enhance craftsmanship. A commitment witnessed by the new Made in Italy collection, presented after the success of the Ge-Technique collection designed by STORAGEMILANO and presented last April in Milan.

Set up inside the Battilossi Texture Library in the showroom in Via dell'Orso in Milan, the Made in Italy collection reveals the secrets of ancient Sardinian weaving reinterpreted in a contemporary key. A true ode to craftsmanship, this series of carpets reinterprets some arcane techniques of Sardinian textile heritage, characterized by the more or less evident irregularity of the yarn and by a loop weaving, mixing them with original Battilossi designs, which blend classic, figurative motifs and naturalistic and abstract and essential elements, in a poetic and intriguing imagery.

Made-in-Italy therefore highlights the Turin-based company's ability to enhance and promote centuries-old artisan traditions, creating products that can be introduced into contemporary interior design projects.
