Adagio by Mutina, design Ronan BouroullecWith Laguna di Venezia, Cadorin have immortalised the landscape it takes its name from on planks of fine European cherry wood. Rita Cadorin, creative director, offers a personal tribute to the place with a work that measures 3.8 x 2.6 metres. Using laser cutting, the wooden surface is carefully engraved to give three-dimensionality to the landscape.
Where the wood is carved into more deeply, the reddish tones of the cherry wood emerge, able to outline the iconic elements of the Venetian lagoon (the point of a gondola or the briccole). Advanced technology enables a very high level of detail to be achieved, looking at the piece one can even see the shadows of elements projected onto the water by the light.
